Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness
Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness
What does that mean?
This is another another romantic saying that, in my opinion, may be applicable to a variety of circumstances in our life. As we previously established, the term "love" encompasses a wide range of connotations.
Yes, I feel that a person's love, not simply romantic love, qualifies for this phrase. Those of you who are parents may certainly recall a time when your love for your children pushed you to the brink of bliss, however fleeting.
At least in my perspective, love of an ideal or a notion qualifies. The love of liberty or justice can also lead you to happiness. And I believe that love for your neighbor may do the same.
However, you must, as usual, put in some effort. Love will lead you to happiness's gates, but you must choose to enter and then take action.
Why is stepping forward important?
Many people appear to spend an excessive amount of time standing in front of the wide-open gates of bliss, unsure whether or not to enter. I'm sure you know a few folks who are like that. And I've been that person myself on occasion.
It's easy to fall into the habit of standing on the outside, peering in through the gate's bars. Sometimes we grow so used to not being able to go in that we don't know what to do when the gate opens.
However, when opportunity knocks, we must be prepared to answer. We must be willing to take the initiative and seize whatever chance has been provided to us.
Whatever the opportunity, if we refuse to take it, nothing good will come of it, and opportunity will turn away from us. According to the saying, love is the key to happiness, but we must be willing to take the first step.
Where can I apply this in my life?
I hope you observed that the quote does not imply that love will bring happiness to you by itself. Simply said, love allows happiness to manifest itself in your life. There have been several TV series and films featuring a grouchy elderly guy who is loved by his friends or family. Despite this, he refuses to enter the gates of bliss for some reason.
From time to time, most of us do the same thing. It might be a dread of the unknown, or a sense of security in one's current position or situation. It may not occur to us that we could or should take that next step. Or we may believe we are unworthy of such joy. It occurs all the time.
A sense of possibility, as well as a healthy dose of self-esteem, can assist. Above all, though, action is needed. We allow the sensations of happiness and joy in our bodies, minds, and spirits to flow through us as we take the first step forward.
The song "Summer Madness" by Kool & the Gang came on when I was composing this. It's a song I adore, and it unleashed the floodgates of joy for me. I put down my pen and took a step forward, through the gates, into the land of listening bliss. The following song appealed to me, so I took another step forward.

Take some time to think about those questions. Choose any of your passions and answer the questions presented in the preceding paragraphs. Why? In order for you to have a deeper understanding of yourself. That's helpful, especially if there's a simpler method to go through the gates of bliss.
